I really don’t know, sometimes I read a news article and I just want to hang my head in shame when I see some of the happenings in this world. The latest is not really a bingo story but it certainly could have an impact on bingo if anyone really cottons on to the idea.
FHA Plans For Foreclosure Solution Receives Lukewarm Response:
A man is suing William Hill for his gambling addiction, the (sic) gentleman, Graham Calvert from Sunderland actually has the temerity to sue them for £2,052,972. His claim is based on the fact that although he tried to ban himself from the bookies they breached their duty of care by allowing him in.
Now I wonder? If I have a gambling problem and I go to my local bingo hall and tell the duty manager not to allow me in, and then I return to play bingo and they let me in, will they be in breach of their duty of care? What an awful lot of rot! The so called gentleman lost all of his money, his wife, and a whole lot of someone else’s money because of HIS inability to play responsibly, but he obviously has not rehabilitated because if he had, he would realise just that!
To continually look for other sources of blame and take no responsibility for HIS own actions means that he is still in denial of his addiction. I wonder what next, is the alcoholic going to sue Johhnie Walker for his addiction too?
