Popular Bingo Payment Method Neteller Makes Last Payment to US

The company Neteller, which provides a popular choice of payment method to many online bingo players, suffered quite a well publicized run in with the US authorities regarding its online gaming payment. Was ordered to pay back $136 million or face never getting the US Government off its back.

This popular banking method among online bingo players as with many other online bingo operators and banking institutions was forced to diversify its operations to compensate for the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

The company has so far managed to pay back almost $81 million of the $94 million in funds that were frozen, to its customers in the United States and is considered to be something of a success story for bouncing back and being able to survive the crippling blow of UIGEA that put many UK and EU online bingo operators and employees out of business.

The last payment that Neteller will have to pay back to the US authorities took place on the 16th January this year; the amount of the final repayment is $38.25. It sure is good to know that at least someone survived the US Government decision to unilaterally break World Trade Organisation treaties, with the promulgation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
