Bingo players from the local Beacon Bingo hall in Cricklewood were left bereft after their bingo club went up in flames in the early hours of the morning. It took firefighters ages to get the blaze under control. This is really bad news for the residents of Cricklewood because another local bingo hall, the Mecca was closed last year. Now residents are without a local venue to play bingo in and as we know this can have devastating effects on the social lives of the elderly and lonely.

Sunday, September 7th, 2008An old Edinburgh Bingo hall has been converted to become what is known as the “grooviest” contemporary church in Scotland, this church recently opened its doors to the public. With many churches (as well as bingo halls) closing down, the Destiny Church had actually outgrown its previous Leith venue, and the old Carlton bingo club suited its needs perfectly.
